Nobles & Merchants

In LARP, nobles and merchants characters are sharing some similarities, often conflated together by stereotypes and caricatural cliches. We all saw those pompous, hedonistic, prideful and self-important characters despising everything that is common or bellow them, shunning physical work and boasting with an almost cartoonish sense of entitlement.

Legend

The general was standing in front of his troops, glancing over the mismatched ranks of this army he was about to lead into the fields for the Great Battle, numerous guilds from across the duchy sending their best for him to command and guide toward victory. Over the years, this hardened veteran fought in dozens of military campaigns, watching allies switch camp over promises of land and prestige, and joining forces with former foes against common enemies. At first, he was a mere pikeman, conscripted to bring more boots on the battlefield. However, after decades spent walking the Duchy's roads, he gained the respect not only of his fellow guild folks, but also of his neighbours, accumulating allies and influence. Now, this old fox was waging war with diplomacy and intrigue as much as with might and sword. After 25 years of honing his craft, he was at the top of his game. This time, on the eve of the battle of a generation, it was a whole coalition he was bringing behind him.

Description

Created in collaboration with Le Duché de Bicolline, The Duchess represents the culmination of Bicolline's long history. Today the largest domain devoted to medieval fantasy role-playing games in North America, the Duchy is celebrating its 25th Great Battle. The Duchess' handle proudly displays the seahorse, emblem of Bicolline, on its pommel and on each sides of its hilt. The golden color gives it a majestic aspect that is sure to turn heads. The rest of the handle, more sober, gives it a striking realism. The subtile variations between silver and steel hues, between black and dark brown, allows the details of the grip and the guard to be highlighted.

The blade has all the characteristics of the latest innovations from Calimacil. It strikes the perfect balance between safety and a realistic look. The illusion of sharpness is accentuated by a silver edging on a steel base. As a final touch, the base of the blade features engravings whose detail is revealed by a gold color on a black background. This luxurious foam sword is an amazing weapon choice for a fleet admiral, sea king, warrior prince, noble swordsman, master knight, or general in LARP.
